pinwheel magic

We have had windy, windy days here in North Carolina…perfect for watching pinwheels spin. Rowan has been carrying his pinwheel with him everywhere he goes. He took it to the park, to the grocery store and on our bike ride. It is a joy to watch his eyes light up every time the wind catches it just right. Below is a song we’ve been singing over the past couple days. This is especially fun with scarves.

Windy Weather by Lynn Kleiner

Windy weather, breezy weather

When the wind blows, we all get together

Like a leaf of a feather, in windy windy weather

music is a part of our everyday life here in my home. we wake up singing and go to sleep singing. we find a song to fit every occasion. it guides us through our day and is the best cure for any ailment. i hope to use these pages as a space to share ideas about music. a space to post new songs, old songs, sad songs, silly songs. a space for new discoveries. a space to be creative and become inspired. i’m open to this blog growing and changing with time and hope it does. and so, here it goes. a song on my mind today..

One Little Song by Gillian Welch

There’s gotta be a song left to sing
Cause everybody can’t of thought of everything
One little song that ain’t been sung
One little rag that ain’t been wrung out completely yet
Gotta a little left

One little drop of fallin’ rain
One little chance to try again
One little bird that makes it home every now and then
One little piece of endless sky
One little taste of cherry pie
One little week in paradise and I start thinkin’

There’s gotta be a song left to sing
Cause everybody can’t of thought of everything
One little note that ain’t been used
One little word ain’t been abused a thousand times
In a thousand rhymes

One little drop of fallin’ rain
One little chance to try again
One little bird that makes it home every now and then
One little piece of endless sky
One little taste of cherry pie
One little week in paradise and I start thinkin’

Gotta be a song left to sing
Cause everybody can’t of thought of everything
One little song that ain’t been sung
One little rag that ain’t been wrung out completely yet
Till there’s nothing left
